Brandon Nimmo exits Mets game early with hamstring injury
Just as the Mets’ lineup was starting to simply click with a new-glance best of the get, Brandon Nimmo was eliminated in the best of the 2nd inning from Saturday’s matinee towards the Nationals with what the staff reported was suitable hamstring tightness.
Albert Almora Jr. changed Nimmo, who prolonged his hitting streak to four online games Saturday, likely two-for-two with an RBI and a stolen foundation in advance of showing up to pull up lame when rounding 3rd. He also slipped on 3rd foundation before in the video game, but it did not look to affect him.
Nimmo, who has bat .318 with two stolen bases in his last seven online games, has solid a potent one-two punch in the lineup with Jonathan Villar foremost off. Villar and Nimmo experienced accounted for a few of the Mets’ six runs when Nimmo exited the video game.
