Yankees-Angels game postponed due to rainy forecast

The Yankees will have to hold out a little longer for a chance to rebound from Thursday morning’s disastrous reduction.

Their Thursday matinee in opposition to the Angels in The Bronx was postponed due to rain in the forecast. The video game will be made up on Aug. 16 at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees ended up going through a brief turnaround from their crushing Wednesday reduction – which ended early Thursday morning mainly because of a rain hold off – in which Aroldis Chapman gave up a video game-tying grand slam in the ninth and Lucas Luetge gave up 3 additional runs in the 11-8 defeat.

“Terrible reduction,” Aaron Boone explained afterward.

Jordan Montgomery will pitch Friday in the opening video game of the Subway Sequence in opposition to the Mets, even though Gerrit Cole has been pushed back to Saturday.
