No. 1 Men’s Swimming’s Van Zandt earns Big 12 Newcomer of the Week
AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas Men’s Swimming freshman Zac Van Zandt was named the Significant twelve Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Newcomer of the Week, the league business announced Wednesday. This marked the first profession weekly league honor for Van Zandt.
Throughout UT’s twin-fulfill earn against SMU on Feb. five, Van Zandt claimed the unique title in the two hundred-yard freestyle with a time of 1:37.eleven.
The Longhorns return to the pool when they host the Significant twelve Swimming Championships on Feb. 24-27 (Wednesday-Saturday) and the Significant twelve Diving Championships on March 1-3 (Monday-Wednesday). The two activities will be held at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Middle. Owing to wellness and basic safety protocols, the two activities are closed to the public.
