No. 1 Men’s Swimming sweeps pair of relays on night one at Hall of Fame Invite

AUSTIN, Texas — The No. one University of Texas Men’s Swimming group swept a pair of relays on Wednesday evening during the very first evening of the Texas Hall of Fame Swimming Invitational at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. The Longhorns attained wins in the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard freestyle relay.

Texas opened the evening by saying the best two spots in the 200-yard medley relay. The Texas ‘A’ squad of senior Chris Staka, junior Charles Scheinfeld, senior Alvin Jiang and junior Daniel Krueger received the event with a NCAA “A” cut time of one:23.fifty eight. The quartet of junior Colter Carman, junior Andrew Couchon, freshman Zac Van Zandt and senior Luke Bowman placed second (one:25.sixty).

The Longhorns concluded motion Wednesday with a one-2-three complete in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The Texas ‘A’ squad of junior Drew Kibler, freshman Coby Carrozza, senior Jake Sannem and freshman Carson Foster received the event in a NCAA ‘A’ cut time of 6:07.34. The quartet of sophomore Peter Larson, sophomore Jake Foster, senior JohnThomas Larson and Bowman took second in a NCAA ‘B’ cut time of 6:eighteen.seventeen, although the lineup of Scheinfeld, freshman David Johnston, freshman Armando Vegas and freshman Ethan Heasley placed third (6:26.forty nine).
