Former NFL star Marshawn Lynch joins ownership group for USL’s Oakland Roots

Previous NFL star Marshawn Lynch has joined the possession team of the Oakland Roots of the USL Championship.

An Oakland native, Lynch, 34, was a popular advocate for the town throughout his twelve-yr NFL occupation, primarily with the Seattle Seahawks.

“Expanding up in The City, we constantly could rely on the professional groups in this region but with most of people ones that I grew up with long gone, I realized the minute I read about the opportunity to be a part of Oakland Roots, it was not just a little something I required to do, it was a little something I had to do,” Lynch said in a statement.

Lynch to begin with retired from the NFL after the 2015 year, but he returned to engage in for the Oakland Raiders in 2017 and 2018, just before their transfer to Las Vegas.
