Balbir Singh Sr was 96 and is survived by his daughter Sushbir and three sons Kanwalbir, Karanbir, and Gurbir.

“He died at all around six:thirty this morning,” Abhijit Singh, Director Fortis Hospital, Mohali, the place he was admitted since May 8, informed PTI. His grandson Kabir afterwards despatched out a message stating, “Nanaji handed absent this morning.”

The three-time Olympic gold medallist was in a semi-comatose state since May eighteen and experienced developed a blood clot in his brain immediately after remaining first admitted to the healthcare facility for bronchial pneumonia with a significant fever.

Hockey India’s Secretary Typical Rajinder Singh also expressed condolences, indicating: “Balbir Sr’s achievements in hockey are not able to be emulated. It is tricky to mention him in previous-tense due to the fact for us he was usually there.
