Phillips leads balanced Lancers past USC Upstate 68-58

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Shabooty Phillips scored 13 points, grabbed ten rebounds and dished four helps as Longwood defeated USC Upstate 68-58 on Thursday night.

Phillips’ double-double was his second this period and fifth job. Jashaun Smith and Juan Munoz also scored 13 points each for Longwood (twelve-seventeen, seven-nine Large South Convention) as the Lancers won a second straight. Leslie Nkereuwem added ten points and eight rebounds.

The surging Lancers are six-three in their previous 9 game titles and never trailed Thursday as they seek out a top eight Large South complete with a residence sport in the meeting tournament’s 1st round.
