The Baltimore Orioles formally expressed interest in hosting this year’s All-Star Video game to Main League Baseball.
The Baltimore Sunshine, citing a staff spokeswoman, experiences staff officials advised the league to retain Camden Yards in brain for a future All-Star Video game if a further town is selected this season.
On Friday, the Orioles and Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott issued a statement in assist of the league’s determination to go the sport from Atlanta next Georgia’s passage of a controversial voting monthly bill.
The statement read through: “The Orioles organization joins the town of Baltimore in assist of present day determination by Main League Baseball to relocate the 2021 All-Star Video game and MLB Draft. As the birthplace of civil rights icon Thurgood Marshall, we stand united with Commissioner (Rob) Manfred in denouncing this destructive legislative energy to suppress voters in Georgia and other condition legislatures.
“Baseball is our nationwide pastime and preserving the appropriate to vote is a pillar of our American democracy. The town of Baltimore and the Birds of Baltimore applaud MLB’s patriotism in supporting voting rights, and we inspire every person to use this minute to combat for fair elections and sign up suitable People in america to vote and make their voices heard.”
Even if Camden Yards is not selected this calendar year, the staff is interested in hosting an All-Star Video game in the future.
