Indian women’s hockey group skipper Rani Rampal, who has been conferred with the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, on Saturday arrived at Bengaluru’s Sports activities Authority of India carrying Particular Protective Devices (PPE) package as a precautionary measure to fight COVID-19. Rani, Mariyappan T (Para-Athletics), and Manika Batra (Desk Tennis) are among the the 5 athletes, who ended up conferred with Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award.

An unprecedented seventy four athletes and coaches ended up selected for this year’s countrywide sporting activities honours. Of which, 60 awardees attended the Nationwide Sports activities and Journey Awards 2020 by using a digital event on Saturday, August 29.
Some of the noteworthy names lacking from the awards ceremony ended up wrestler Vinesh Phogat and cricketers Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma.
While the two cricketers skipped the ceremony because of to their commitments with their respective IPL franchises, Vinesh Phogat determined to skip the event after she tested positive for COVID-19.
All health and fitness and security protocols, in trying to keep with the pointers of the Overall health Ministry, ended up adopted at all the venues where dignitaries and awardees ended up current.
The awardees attended the ceremony from several spots throughout the country – Bengaluru, Pune, Sonepat, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, Hyderabad, and Itanagar.
Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports activities Kiren Rijiju, President of the Indian Olympic Affiliation Narendra Dhruv Batra, and several other dignitaries have attended the ceremony from Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
