Jets linebacker Patrick Onwuasor dominates at practice

Highlights from Wednesday’s Jets practice.

On’ the shift

Patrick Onwuasor was all over the field Wednesday. The linebacker picked off a pass from backup quarterback David Fales and induced a strip sack of Fales on a blitz. Onwuasor could be a flexible piece of Gregg Williams’ protection.

Down on the corners

The Jets are very thin at cornerback. It is difficult to figure out who is heading to emerge from that team. Pierre Desir (hamstring) remains sidelined. Bless Austin, Arthur Maulet, Nate Hairston and Quincy Wilson are acquiring a ton of practice reps. Another person is heading to have to include the Bills’ Stefon Diggs in Week one.

Caught my eye

Frank Gore showed huge burst throughout the target-line period of time. Gore fired via a gap and observed his way to the finish zone. The 37-12 months-previous appears to be spry.

Medical report

Backup OL Conor McDermott went down in practice with a knee injuries that appeared serious. He was scheduled to undertake an MRI exam Wednesday afternoon. Rookie WR Denzel Mims (hamstring), rookie OL Cameron Clark (shoulder), DL Bronson Kaufusi (hamstring), CB Pierre Desir (hamstring), CB Brian Poole (dehydration), LB James Burgess (again) and rookie DL Jabari Zuniga (quad) all missed practice.
