Jeff Horn v Tim Tszyu, Trainer Glenn Rushton’s ‘disgraceful’ call, news, video, highlights,
Jeff Horn’s coach Glenn Rushton has hit back again at brutal criticism of his refusal to put a halt to his fighter’s brutal beat down at the arms of Tim Tszyu in Wednesday night’s blockbuster bout.
Horn had been battered in the course of the battle – knocked down in the 3rd round and tumbling to the canvas 2 times much more – and when he staggered back again to his corner right after the eighth round, most viewers could see the battle should really have been ended immediately.
But Rushton was reluctant to connect with the battle, inquiring the 32-yr-previous: “Have you received a punch still left in you or not? Give us a minute …”
Eventually, cornerman Adam Copland went around Rushton’s head, telling referee Phil Austin to connect with off the battle.
Rushton’s actions were labelled ‘disgraceful’ by Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech, though The Everyday Telegraph’s Paul Kent stated it was “embarrassing, to be sincere.”

But Rushton today hit back again, saying ‘Jeff was not hurt’ and deserved the prospect to score an upset knockout.
“I do not truly issue myself ever with what Jeff (Fenech) claims,” Rushton stated.
“Jeff’s extremely opinionated and he jumps up and down and claims things. When Jeff’s educated any individual to beat someone of the calibre of Manny Pacquiao then he can criticise my coaching talents.
“I haven’t still viewed Jeff coach everyone who’s beaten the calibre of Manny Pacquiao so I do not believe it is truthful for him to offer you criticism. It is what it is.
“Was Jeff poorly hurt? No. Was he excessively fatigued? No. What reason was there for stopping the battle, other than that he was dropping the battle?” Rushton stated.
“So we have received a footy team, 10 minutes from the finish they’re dropping by 30 details we say ‘that’ll do it boys, let’s just connect with it quits’? Of system not.”
“People assume you to deliver the greatest general performance you can and if you’re unharmed, most likely in boxing it only will take one punch to finish the battle,” he stated. “Jeff Horn often had that puncher’s prospect of ending that battle and we know he can to do it, he’s accomplished it just before.
“The identical thing took place in the (Manny) Pacquiao battle and we didn’t (halt it). I didn’t argue this time simply because the hearth was absent. Would you inspire a winner to accomplish well, or would you let him chuck in the towel?”

“All night time I do not believe I slept. I do not rest well when these kind of things materialize simply because naturally you care an dreadful good deal about the fighter and what has took place, what a terrific occupation it is been,” he stated.
In his defeats to Terence Crawford and Michael Zerafa, Horn was beaten to a bloody pulp – with Rushton earning a lot of criticism for making it possible for his fighter to consider unwanted punishment.
But Horn has – much more than when – pulled off a victory from behind, first towards Manny Pacquiao and next in the rematch with Zerafa, in which Horn punched his way out of a deep gap.
Rushton argued that Horn deserved the prospect to do so yet again.
“Just so all people is familiar with, the earlier two rounds in the breaks, both equally Ben (Horn, Jeff’s brother) and I st
ated to Jeff ‘if you do not clearly show us one thing we’re likely to halt this battle, you will need to clearly show us that you want this and you’re continue to in this fight’.
“Was Jeff receiving poorly hurt? No, he’s not – he had no cuts and even now he’s wonderful, no head aches. He was not poorly hurt but the hunger was not there, the pop was not there, that was not the Jeff Horn we all noticed with the historic victory around Manny Pacquiao.
“We could just see that the hearth was absent. We’re attempting to reignite that hearth. We even stated to him at the finish of the eighth round, ‘Jeff, do you want to go on?’. He just shrugged his shoulders. It was just an ‘I do not care’ kind of thing. The hunger was not there.
“The identical thing took place in the Manny Pacquiao battle – the referee arrived around and stated ‘I believe you have had more than enough, Jeff’. I was the one who stated ‘do not halt the fight’. In that instance, we’re successful the battle. I purchased him (the referee) and record was established from that.
“In this case I didn’t argue simply because to me the hearth was absent.”
