Ian Steere becomes second St. John’s big man to transfer
St. John’s has one particular distinctive need this offseason: a huge male.
Ian Steere grew to become the next ahead from the Queens college to enter the transfer portal on Saturday, becoming a member of Damien Sears, according to a source. The departure of the 6-foot-nine sophomore opens up a scholarship for coach Mike Anderson and his staff.
The gifted but enigmatic Steere was meant to be a contributor, but appeared in just six games. He also was suspended in early February for his lack of ability to “meet expectations predicted from a member of our basketball application,” but was reinstated in early March.
Sophomore Josh Roberts, coming off shoulder surgical treatment to repair a torn ligament, and incoming junior higher education recruit Isaih Moore now are the only huge gentlemen on following year’s roster.
