Georgia AD Greg McGarity given 1-year contract extension

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity has been provided a 1-calendar year agreement extension.

The announcement came in a exceptional on-line movie spring meeting of the University of Georgia athletic association’s board of directors on Thursday.

The sixty five-calendar year-old McGarity was named Georgia’s Ad in 2010. His extension came in a unanimous vote.

UGA President Jere W. Morehead said he was grateful McGarity agreed to provide a further calendar year ”particularly now, with all that we’re heading by way of – in this state and in intercollegiate athletics – with all the issues that we have confronted, Greg’s encounter and having that continuity is really fantastic for UGA at this time. So I respect his willingness to provide.”
